The Fine Art of Misapprehension
2025 | Short Film
Director and Writer: Noa Cohen
Director of Photography: Kieran Armstrong
Currently completing it's festival run, "The Fine Art of Misapprehension" is a love letter to all things Austen. Inspired by classic novels of manners the film delves deep into the familial responsibilities of the time and the heart break that comes with.
The film served as my senior thesis film at Loyola Marymount University and was fully crowdfunded. Shot in LA over the course of 3 days, this project was an exciting challenge. The whole experience offered all the chance to grow as film makers and provided many with the invaluable experience of working on a film of this scale.
The project was recently honoured during the Jane Austen festival in Bath, winning Best Student film at the Jane Austen International Film Festival.
